You are invited to the CARA Annual Dinner on Friday, 1 February 2019 in St Martin’s Church Hall, Hale Gardens, Acton W3 9SQ. The schedule for the evening is:
7.30Arrive, Welcome Drink with Canapes
8.00 Talk: “The Life and Times of Ealing Common” Jennifer Shipside of the Ealing Common Society
8.30 Three course Dinner by Camilla’s Cuisine
- Smoked Salmon Pate
- Beef Carbonade on Potato and Celeriac Mash or
- Vegetarian Lasagne (if requested when booking)
- Selection of Desserts
RSVP by 26 January 2019. Places for the Dinner, including the first drink, cost £15.00 per person, paid in advance.
Reservations for the dinner
We will not be issuing tickets, but places for the dinner must be reserved by 26 January, either
- by cheque – made out to CARA, sent to Margaret Cunningham, 9 Stanway Gardens, W3 9ST, or
- by online bank payment – to Account name: CARA, Sort Code: 60-07-10, Account Number: 60708816, using the reference: Dinner and your name.
It would be helpful if you would also email Info@CARAealing.org to let us know you have made an online payment to reserve places.

There is a proposal to make a limited number of parking bays in zone MM shred between residents parking and paid for parking. These are all bays next to walls and not outside houses. Objections should be sent in writing by e-mail to Highwayservices@ealing.gov.uk or by post to Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference ORD 4114 until the 11th June 2018. Plans showing the bays are below. The roads affected are:

The South Acton Safer Neighbourhood ward Panel met this month, and there has been an increase in burglaries and stolen cars. The ward team is currently under strength by one PC.

The increase in burglaries is in part due to a change in the way crimes are categorised. They now include theft from sheds and attempted burglaries. So for Sep to Nov, they include:
A cycle was stolen from a bin store
A cycle was stolen from a garage in Uxbridge Road on two separate occasions
A log cabin was entered
A cycle was stolen from a garden shed
Property was stolen from an underground car park
A cycle was stolen from a communal storage area
The CARA Annual Dinner will be at 7.30 p.m. for 8.00 p.m. on Thursday, 1 February 2018 in St Martin’s Church Hall, Hale Gardens, Acton W3 9SQ
The CARA Dinner this year is held in honour of the Rev Dr Nicholas Henderson, who is retiring from his position as vicar of St Martin’s Church. Following the dinner, Dr Henderson will give an illustrated talk entitled “Mysteries and Conspiracies”
Places for the three-course dinner including the first drink cost £12.50 per person for CARA members and £15.00 for non-members, paid in advance. RSVP by 29 January 2018. Booking details are here.
