CARA AGM & Talk, Thursday May 27th on Zoom

The AGM includes the election of the CARA Executive Committee for 2021-22.We have not been able to hold social gatherings, but other activities, such as participation in the Ealing Conservation Review, response to Planning concerns, attendance at virtual meetings on behalf of CARA, have been busier than usual; also we have sent more frequent email circulations including borough-wide information. The Committee is greatly under-strength with only six members, some covering more than one role, and some roles needing a second person. It meets formally six times during the year, with informal meetings as needed

New Committee members are urgently needed, and we seek nominations for election at the AGM.

The AGM will be followed by a talk from Geoff Payne, entitled:
Somewhere to Live – a review of five decades of international experience.

Geoff is a CARA member and an international housing and urban development consultant. He has taken advantage of the lockdown to reflect on a career of 5 decades working in all regions of the world on issues of affordable housing and urban development and will discuss some of the key issues (inequality, the climate crisis and cultural aspects) and some of the progressive and practical examples that can help resolve them. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
